NASA- A giant leap in space research and advancement in Technology
The first ‘Global Selfie’ was created by NASA by making a mosaic image of planet earth using the pictures taken on Earth Day. Global Selfie was released on 22nd May by NASA which consisted of 36,422 images and is of 3.2 giga pixel.
People more than hundreds of countries posted on social sites such as facebook, twitter, instagram. Global Selfie participants are not restricted to age. Participants range from infant to old age.
The reference image for this came from NPP i.e Suomi National Polar orbiting partnership satellite on a joint mission of National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration and NASA. NASA’s goal for Global Selfie is to draw attention of the agencies which research on earth. NASA is continuously contributing in the field of space research and in turn advancement in technology.
Moreover NASA is planning to launch a 5 year mission. The global participation measurement mission started in February 2014. There are other missions also which is based on International space station.
On 6th June 2014, NASA had planned to send a highly developed instrument ISS- RapidScat in order to track ocean wind.
The contribution of NASA is innumerable which has enabled mankind to dream big and heading towards conquering the universe.
Also, Success of Russian Soyuz spacecraft at International Space Station following a flawless launch
The Mission Control in Moscow congratulated the trio NASA’s Reid Wiseman, Russian cosmonaut German Alexander and Max Surayer after successful docking of Russian Soyuz spacecraft at International Space Station. Soyuz is the latest version of Russian spacecraft and were used to transport crew to and from Salyut and Mir Space station. Nowadays Soyuz is dedicated to International Space Station crew transportation. This spacecraft is operated by Roscosmos, a Russian space agency.
